There are currently over 130 members from throughout the UK, Ireland and elsewhere. Membership of the Group is by election and is open to all individuals who possess sufficient appropriate experience or qualifications relevant to, or who can show a constructive interest in, the science of analytical toxicology.
Note: all documents/forms necessary for new and existing members are available in the “Forms” section. Any queries about membership should be sent to secretary@ltg.uk.net
Why become a member
The content of the LTG meetings is of benefit to any individual working in or with an appropriate interest in analytical toxicology. In addition, the opportunity to meet other colleagues can be useful for an exchange of ideas and improved communication.
Becoming a member
To become a member an individual should download and sign an application form. This should be signed and supported by an existing LTG member and sent with a cheque for £10 made payable to LTG to the Secretary. Alternatively, it is recommended that members pay by standing order – this can be done by downloading the standing order form, complete it and send it to your bank then send a copy (marked “copy”) to the Secretary along with your application.
Membership applications will be put to the Group during a business meeting which should be attended by the individual supporting the application. Alternatively, in the absence of the sponsoring individual, a written statement of support should be sent in advance to the Secretary. One of these must occur otherwise applications will be deferred to the next available meeting.
Upon acceptance, members are able to freely attend LTG meetings and receive minutes and material for all meetings whether they have attended or not. Opportunities are also available to become a member of the Executive Committee to help organise meetings, develop the Group and support the members’ requirements.
Corporate membership
The LTG provides an opportunity for companies or commercial organisations to sponsor and attend meetings in order to have access to the membership, maintain customer contact or talk to potential clients.
Corporate Members receive a full members list and are sent the minutes but are also encouraged to attend meetings whenever possible. Sponsorship of a meeting allows the company to send a representative to talk as the first speaker at the LTG meeting. The presentation maybe about a particular piece of equipment or application but we always ask for it to be relevant to the audience and wherever possible, to the overall topic of the meeting.
We also welcome corporate support of this website. Sponsorship is divided into levels depending on the money donated and are associated with increasing levels of benefit for the sponsor. Sponsorship fees are payable on a per annum basis (excluding Platinum level) and are currently in addition to normal Corporate Membership fees. You can maintain or alter your sponsorship status as you see fit each year.
For more information about corporate membership or sponsorship e-mail: corporates@ltg.uk.net, also click on “Sponsor’s links” to see our current supporters.
Finding members
The “contact list” is an active database of all current (paid) ordinary members of the LTG and Honorary Life members. Access to the list is strictly members only, so you have to be logged in. The list can be searched for a particular member by entering part of their name (first or surname) or part of their address. If you wish to browse the complete list, do not enter any name/address or click on the browse button.
